Hello Clubmembers, Just have a few things I needed to get out to everyone. 1) Want to remind everyone of the Basket Auction next month on the 18th. We moved it already due to boys state basketball. It will be at the church in the Fellowship hall. It will start at 7 so if you can come early to set up your basketsn and get checked in that would be great. The sooner we get started the better. 2) I found out yesterday at my 2010 Convention Committee meeting that the Nebraska Clubwoman magazine will be out in the mail tomorrow so you should be getting it this week. It has all the information for State Convention in it. The dates are April 15-17. You don't have to attend each day. Since it is a Mahoney State Park this might be a good time to attend if you would like. You wouldn't have to stay and can easily drive to it. We need one other delegate besides myself to attend so let me know if you are interested. 3) We are still looking for volunteers at the 2010 Convention, particularly for State night on Friday June 11. We need about 30 to be exact. The cost is $58 (I also found that out yesterday) so it isn't bad. You don't have to register for the Convention itself just to attend State Night. Heidi Joy will be singing that night. We want all the Nebraska women to wear red. It should be a lot of fun. More details will be coming soon in the International Clubwoman magazine. 4) We are still looking for officers for the next administration. PLEASE let Leola know be email if you are interested. I think that is it for now. 5) Marilyn is unable to drive to Sophomore Pilgrimage this year. It is on March 31 I believe, Hazel has the details. Checking to see if any one else would be interested in taking 2 students to this wonderful experience. We pay for you lunch with a senator and you get to maybe meet the Govonor and a few other dignitaries in Lincoln. Let Hazel or me know if you can do this.
Everyone take care. Janet

Dear Clubmembers,
Well here it is another night of snow. Hopefully the snow will melt, it will get warmer outside, and the clouds will give way to sunshine. I just hope it doesn’t take to long.
I hope everyone got some useful information from Matt last month. I plan to attend his special workshop next Wed at the Community Room. I hope he has a good turn out. We collected enough money to provide 4 children at school with milk for second semester. Thanks to all of you, they will appreciate it.
We will be having another informative meeting next week. First of all the date is wrong in the year book. It should be Thursday the 11th not the 12th. Bob Zaruba will be presenting information on the pending Library/Community Center. We will also be collecting food or money for the Western Douglas County Food Bank. My understanding is that with money they can purchase $14 of food for every $1 donated. So let help out the Food Bank. Jennie Jefferies will be coming from the Food Bank.
We will be discussing several big topics so we need everyones input. The committee for the Basket Auction will be telling us what they have come up with after last months discussion. The church has been reserved for March 18th (one week later then normal due to Girls basketball tourney). We got a letter with information about the Post Prom party. Sophomore Pilgrimage is March 31. Hazel is calling the school to start the ball rolling at school but I need someone to take the students to Lincoln. Let me now if you are available. We will be discussing State Convention in April and International Convention in June. Leola is chairing the nominating committee and could use some assistance. Email her if you can help her. Ladies Nite Out is coming up in May. We will be eating at Sportsman and have Installation of Officers and lots of fun.
So I hope to see everyone on the 11th. Judi Boe will be doing the meditation and Sally H., Mary Pat S. and Micki P. will be Hostesses.
In Federation,
Janet Kuhl
Well I don’t know about everyone else, but I am really tired of this SNOW and COLD. I made it in to work today but it was a tough go. How animals survive I will never know. That is enough about the weather. On to better stuff. I will be typing this while watching the BCS Championship game so please excuse any funny glitches.
To catch everyone up on things that have been going on. Along with the Friends of the Library, we made just over $4000! That is really great. And we were able to do this by all of us working together. Thanks to all of you.
We had a wonderful at the Dec meeting at Keno for those that braved the cold. The picture was in the paper showing all the past Presidents that were present. The gift exchange was a lot of fun. We had great donations for Operation Santa and really “nice” gifts for the Over 60 Center bingo. Thank you to Connie for taking the gifts down to the Open Door Mission and Hazel for doing the bingo.
Matt Geiseman is really excited about coming next Thurs nite to talk to us. He has wonderful information for all of us. Suzanne and Melanie Luedke-Taylor are Hostesses for the evening and Pat Smith will give the meditation. We are also looking for more school supplies or money for semester milk so bring those. So hopefully it will be a little warmer next week and everyone can brave the cold to attend.
I want all chairman to be prepared to say something about your area. If you have not completed a narrative about a project you have done this past year, please do so now and turn it in to me next Thur. I need to accumulate them and send them in by the end of January so we need to get these finished up. So everyone please help me out here and type up a short narrative about what you have done with the help of others.
Other things coming up is the Basket Auction in March so everyone start thinking about you want to put together to raise funds. That is still open so look around as to where the proceeds can go. We are always collecting pop tabs for Ronald Mc Donald House so I will need them in April. I will be looking for volunteers for a committee to set up a new slate of officers for the next 2 years. So everyone start thinking about if you can step up to the plate to take your turn in helping run this club and make it another successful term.
State Convention is April 16-18 at Mahoney State Park so I hope there will be a couple of club members who would be interested in attending. We should be getting the reservation form in February or March. I still am in need of Volunteers for the International Convention in Omaha June 11-15. See me for a form.
The score is 6-7 Bama so it is time to watch the game. This is long enough anyway. We can all be thankful that we have a house to keep us warm and food on the table to fill our tummies. We must pray for the others that aren’t so fortunate.

Janet
